Erik Lundgren
Erik Lundgren joined Immunic as Chief Executive Officer in June 2026. He brings more than two decades of biopharmaceutical leadership experience, with deep expertise in the commercialization of multiple sclerosis and other specialty medicines, strategic business development, and building high-performing commercial organizations from the ground up.
Most recently, Mr. Lundgren served as Senior Vice President, Commercial Portfolio Organization at Genentech, Inc., a member of the Roche Group. In this role, he held overall P&L accountability for the commercial arm of Genentech, overseeing a portfolio of more than 40 commercialized medicines. As a member of Genentech’s U.S. Leadership Team, Mr. Lundgren was responsible for shaping and approving commercial strategies across all therapeutic areas, directing capital allocation across the portfolio, serving as the company’s commercial lead for major business development transactions and strategic partnering, and communicating commercial performance and strategy to senior leadership and the Board. He directly led thirteen Vice Presidents, each accountable for multi-billion dollar books of business.
Earlier at Genentech, Mr. Lundgren served as Senior Director, OCREVUS® Marketing, where he led overall commercial strategy and execution for the highly successful U.S. launch of OCREVUS® (ocrelizumab) into the competitive multiple sclerosis market — building Genentech’s first MS commercial organization from the ground up. Under his leadership, OCREVUS® was one of the most successful launches of a new medicine for multiple sclerosis, and one of the most successful launches in Genentech history. In addition to his commercial leadership roles, Mr. Lundgren served as Lifecycle Leader for tominersen, a potential first-in-class investigational therapy for Huntington’s disease, architecting an ambitious clinical development and regulatory strategy. Earlier positions at Genentech included marketing leadership for Kadcyla® (ado-trastuzumab emtansine) and ZELBORAF® (vemurafenib), Division Sales Manager, and a Commercial Rotational Development Program spanning sales, marketing, and strategic pricing functions.
Prior to joining Genentech, Mr. Lundgren was a consultant at Mercer Management Consulting (now Oliver Wyman), where he focused on strategy and market assessment engagements across a broad spectrum of industries.
Mr. Lundgren earned a Master of Business Administration with Distinction from Harvard Business School, where he was awarded First Year Honors, and a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy from Duke University.
